USPS should be the flag bearer for USD Digital Dollar — US CBDC — A Technologist view
As sovereigns move towards piloting fiat digital currency initiatives (CBDC), I propose we should leverage USPS as a trailblazer for this initiative.
I would like to preface that, my reasons are purely functional and technical and more importantly my own personal view.
First of all, you might be thinking, what in the world is CBDC?
CBDC is the digital manifestation of a country’s currency. I won’t focus on the background here, but you could start here. Think of this as the Bitcoin equivalent of fiat currency (or whatever the currency you want to replace here — USD here).

Second of all, why is this important? and why this is important for the USA?
There are multiple benefits (& security and constitutional issues, which I will stay away from for another time) of digital fiat currency, but let me lay out why it is important for USD
These are facts. Not a point of view. Period.
- We have no real-time payment system, without paying multiple intermediaries.
